Looking for a different approach? I integrate Art in therapy to help children, adolescents and adults feel their best in mind, body and soul. Through the art making process, you will feel understood, supported and cared for.
Art Therapy is an effective (and fun) form of psychotherapy involving self-expression through the use of art and creative expression. Many people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma or low self-esteem forget they have talents. Art making in therapy opens doors to explore another side of yourself in a safe, non-judgmental way. Art is its own language, and helps people of all ages resolve conflicts, reduce stress, foster alternate perspectives and enhance well-being and connection (Malchiodi, 2003).
I have successfully integrated art in therapy to help creative professionals (such as dancers, musicians, visual artists, writers, actors and yoga practitioners), those in the healing arts professions, and those who feel they "can't draw" or "aren't creative". You do not need to be "artistic" to benefit from the life-affirming experience of participating in Art Therapy.
WHAT TO EXPECT
I offer the use of artistic expression, (paint, collage, pastel, graphite, ect.) in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy methods, to foster effective and lasting change on a holistic level. I will provide all art materials and art making is always an option, but will be your choice if you wish to engage.
